CEO, Ron Basaraba
Ron Basaraba joins Creewest GP Inc. as their CEO with over 30 years’ Aviation experience. In 1981, Ron started his career in Aviation as a Station Attendant for Air Canada Thunder Bay, moving to Toronto in 1984 where he progressed to Ramp, Cargo and De-icing operations for Domestic, Trans-Border and International flights. With a decade of frontline and supervisory operations experience with various aircraft, he returned to Thunder Bay in 1994 and launched two companies: Thunder Bay Ramp Services and Thunder Air Catering. These companies provided contract services for nine successful years to various airlines, such as Canadian Airlines, Canadian Regional Airlines, NorOnt Air, Air BC, Air Ontario, and others.
In 2000, Ron accepted a Directorial position with Thunder Airlines, where he was director of Charter Sales and Customer Service & Development, as well as management of properties and frontline operations for both the charter and air ambulance departments. Ron later held the position of Vice President – Business Development with Thunder Airlines and spent a lot of time developing strong business relationships in the Timmins and James Bay coastal areas for the Air Charter and Air Scheduled market. Moving on to Air Bravo Corp. in 2008, Ron took on the role of Manager of Business Development, Marketing and Charter Sales for Air Bravo’s five bases. Ron successfully diversified the company from 100% Air Ambulance and developed a very successful charter department. In his managerial positions, Ron was a direct liaison between his respective airline and aboriginal communities and their leaders, businesses, organizations and community members.
As of 2012, Ron is pleased to have the opportunity to further his Aviation career as Chief Executive
Officer with GP Inc. He is looking forward to working closely with the First Nation Communities
as well as assisting with the overall strategy of development, growth, diversification and success of
